NCRS Shipping Data report shows delivery to Ken Wilson Chevrolet, Vestal NY. Car documented with original P-O-P. All original drive train except for rear differential. |
|
Car history: |
Special ordered from Ken Wilson Chevrolet, Vestal, NY. Believed to have been ordered by Dr. Savage for his son to race at Watkins Glen race track. When the car was delivered to the dealership it was refused due to an argument between the father and son. Car was sold to a person off the street, Claude Isham, who used it for everyday use. Car drifted around Binghampton, NY area for many years and ended up at Carlisle in the 1980's where it was purchased by Wayne McCabe (Ma) who proceeded to do a superb frame off restoration. Current owner spoke with Claude Isham approx. 1994 who stated that when he purchased the car he bought it because he wanted to have a car with the high performance fuel injection and he liked the Nassau Blue color. Claude stated that he was into British sports cars and had never owned a Corvette. consequently he did not realize that the car had the oversize gas tank in it (nor did the dealership employees mention it). |
